Raising money for college is no easy matter and blood donations are something that are always needed. So Andalusia High School senior Bryce Dubose saw an opportunity to partially solve two problems.

Dubose along with the help of several friends and the First United Methodist Church organized a Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday. It is the second of three Dubose is organizing in hopes of earning a scholarship.

Midway through the afternoon on Tuesday, Dubose said that more than 30 people had donated a total of 15 pints of blood.

At the end of the day, he was two short of his goal of 51 pints of blood, he said.
