James Ezra “Mike” Shirey

Mr. James Ezra “Mike” Shirey, age 78, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., Dec. 22, 2016, at Luverne Health and Rehab.

1223-shirey-obitFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tues., Dec. 27, from Mobley Creek Baptist Church with Terry Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 26, 2016, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Juanette Shirey of Andalusia; son, Michael Shirey of Andalusia; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Wayne Godwin of Andalusia, Deborah and Joe Armstrong of Andalusia, Suzanne and Michael Churlik of Cleveland, Tenn., and Amanda and Michael Kahoe of Cutler Bay, Fla.; step-children, Eugene Cooper and Julie Waldrow both of Okeechobee, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeline Jones of Andalusia and Connie Johnson of Kilgore, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Lee and Ossie Mae Shirey; brother, Lester Shirey; and sisters, Mary Miller, Dorothy Turvin, and Mylie Clark.

Pallbearers will include Nathan Shirey, Daniel Shirey, Terry Shirey, Christopher Lawrence, Keith Lawrence, and Jeremy Labigang.

Frances Bullock Brown

Mrs. Frances Bullock Brown, age 77, of Evergreen, passed away Wed., Dec. 21, 2016, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Fri., Dec. 23, from Long Branch Baptist Church with Larry Smith and Billy Croley officiating, interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Brooks and Kay Mercer both of Red Level; sons and daughter-in-law, Keith Connally of Red Level and Danny and Annette Brown of Jasper, Ala.; grandchildren, Toby (Amanda) Brooks, Andy Berry, Amanda (David) Aughtman, Jaron (Cassandra) Brown, and Tony Harrison; 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Diane Bullock of Georgiana; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Haskell and Bertha Mae Bullock; husband, James R. Brown; grandson, Bobby Brooks; brother, Dudley Bullock; and sister, Barbara Logan.

Pallbearers include: Toby Brooks, Cody Brooks, Andy Berry, Aaron Bullock, Tony Harrison, Jaron Brown, and James Stroud.

Jason Clark

Mr. Jason Clark, age 39, of Dozier passed away Wed., Dec. 21, 2016, at the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Fri., Dec. 23, 2016, at Keahey Funeral Home chapel. His father, Mr. Donald Clark, will be officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery with Keahey Funeral home directing.

Mr. Clark attended Red Level High School. He was a welder and certified German plumber. He loved to deer hunt and spend time with his friends. He was a huge Auburn fan.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Donald (Gail) Clark of Dozier; mother and step-father, Patricia (Leon) Ballard of McKenzie; son, Daniel Clark of Dozier; daughter, Ashton Greene of Opp; brother, Adam (Deedra) Clark of River Falls; and several nieces and nephews

 

Edd Bass

Mr. Edd Bass, age 83, of Andalusia passed away Tues., Dec. 20, 2016, at the North Okaloosa hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Fri., Dec. 23, 2016, at Shady Hill Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Shady Hill Baptist Church cemetery with Keahey Funeral home directing.

Mr. Bass began his career in electrical repairs with Ward Bell Company and then with Covington Electronics when he worked for almost 38 years. He and his wife had been married for 57 years. They had been active members of Shady Hill Baptist Church for many years and for the last couple of years had attended Beda Baptist Church. He loved to whittle woods and make it into all shapes of animals. He took pride in his vegetable garden and enjoyed raising cows.

Survivors include his wife, Learvene Bass of Andalusia; son, Anthony (Lynn) Bass of Andalusia; daughter, Wendy (Jay) Jordan of Andalusia; brothers, Ralph Bass of Andalusia, Coy (Faye) Bass of Opelika, Herman (Ann) Bass of Andalusia, and Frank (Barbara) Bass of Pascagoula, Miss.; sisters, Eunice Henderson of Brewton, Wavie Lee Mims of Andalusia, and Hazel Bass Trawick of Milton, Fla.; grandchildren, Gabriel Bass, Nathan Bass and Annette Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Josiah Bass and Declan Bass.

Mr. Bass is preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Bruce Bass.

 

Lance Price

Funeral services for Lt. Lance Price are set for 1 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 27, 2016, at First Baptist Church Frisco, 2701 Corona Ave., in Jasper, Ala.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday.

Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, 1200 Birmingham Ave. Jasper, is in charge of arrangements.
