The Straughn Tigers came out strong and held off the T.R. Miller Tigers for a 53-41 victory in Tuesday night’s opening round action of the Red Level Christmas Tournament.

“The biggest thing for us tonight was having fresh legs on the court,” Straughn head coach Bradley Stephens said. “Before Christmas we had played seven games in nine days. I felt like we played really well tonight.”

Justin Peeples led Straughn with 27 points.

The Tigers will take on Georgiana at 4:30 p.m, on Thursday.
