United Fund at 35%, continues appeal for 2017

The calendar year may be ending, but United Fund’s efforts to raise money for charities in Covington County for the coming year has not.

United Fund drive chairman Amanda Wardle said Friday the charity is at about 35 percent of its $120,000 goal.

“This is the perfect time to get in a donation for 2016,” she said. “And if you don’t, expect to be hearing from me in 2017 as we continue to pursue funding for the agencies we serve.

This current drive will serve the following agencies in 2017:

  • American Red Cross, Covington County
  • Boy Scouts
  • St. Mary’s Rice and Beans ministry
  • Bethesda House
  • Lucile Pierce Family Literacy Center
  • Covington County Imagination Library
  • Covington County Adult Training Center
  • Covington County 4-H Clubs
  • Andalusia Community Christmas
  • Youth Sports Recreation Board
  • SAFE of Covington County
  • Public libraries
  • Crossover Ministries
  • Governor’s Committee on Employment of Persons with Disabilities
  • Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Resource Center
  • Opp Benevolence Fund
  • Opp Meals on Wheels

Andalusia Adult Activity/Nutrition Center
