After both teams fell in Tuesday’s opening round, the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Tigers matched up on Thursday with Andalusia pulling away with a 55-21 victory.

“We needed something positive like this after the past couple of games that we have had,” Andalusia head coach Brad Garner said. “Over the past few games, we have been struggling a little, and this was a good win for us.”

Alex Crittenden led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points.

“I really felt like we made some improvements as they game went along” Garner said. “We were improving on things that we have been working on.”

In the final game of the evening, the Andalusia Bulldogs picked up a 59-12 victory over Red Level to earn a spot in tonight’s tournament championship.

The Bulldogs got quick 3-pointers from B.J. Anderson and Allan George to start the game, but went cold for the remainder of the period.

At the end of the first period, the Bulldogs led 10-4.

Despite the win, Andalusia head coach Anthony Clark wasn’t particularly pleased with the game.

“I love these kids to death, but I was disappointed in the way we played tonight,” Clark said. “We came out flat and didn’t play inspired. The kids have to learn to play to a certain standard, and that’s my job to teach them that.”

At halftime, the Bulldogs were up 26-8 before finding a little better play in the second half.

“I felt like in the second half our effort was better, but we still have to learn to put together four quarters,” Clark. “I had a talk with the guys after the game, and I don’t think that is something that we are going to have to worry about.”

Roosevelt Weaver led the way for the Bulldogs with 9 points.

Jaden Brown tacked on 8 points and R.J. Drish finished with 7 points.

Cale Mancil finished with 5 points to lead the Tigers.

With the win, the Bulldogs will take on Georgiana in the championship tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Red Level will take on Straughn for the third-place game today at 4:30 p.m.
