Those looking for something to do to ring in the New Year can take part in the city of Andalusia’s domino drop tonight as long as the rain holds off.
Stepahnie Moceri of the city of Andalusia said the event starts at 10 p.m., on the Court Square.
The National Weather Service is predicting an 80 percent of rain with thunderstorms possible after 9 p.m.
City officials will decide by Saturday afternoon whether to continue with the Domino Drop.
The Straughn High School FFA String Band will be this year’s featured entertainment.
The band features Jade Smith, Loni Blatz, Morgan Campbell, Daniel Mock, Brinnley Stewart, Will Fountain, Joseph Pettis, Kristen Bracewell, Leah Thompson, Mason Barnes and Brady Hamrac.
The band is expected to have a set list including Alabama’s “My Home’s in Alabama,” Tim McGraw’s “I Like It, I Love It,” Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ in the Dark,” Journey’s “Lights” and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.”
There will be fireworks and the domino drop at midnight.
The Square will be blocked off to traffic.
