The Dollar General currently being constructed on Hwy. 55 in Andalusia is hiring.

Dollar General Store Manager Pam Lawson announced this week that they will fill an assistant manager position, two full time leads, and 10 part-time sales associates.

“I have several positions to fill for the new store on Hwy. 55 South and the store here in Gantt,” she said. “You can apply at any of the Andalusia locations listed or Gantt.”

Lawson will be the new store manager when it opens.

“Anyone interested needs to apply online and then come see,” she said. “You must apply first. No phone calls, just come to the Gantt store and ask for Pam. I will interview anyone interested in any one of the positions I have available. Best time would be 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.”

Dan MacDonald, senior director of corporate communications for Dollar General, confirmed in mid-December the new store, will boast a sales floor of roughly 7,300 square feet.

MacDonald said then that they expect a soft-opening in mid-February and a grand opening the first weekend in March.
