The two Andalusia men who are charged with robbing the First National Bank of Dozier were appointed counsel on Wednesday.
Crenshaw County District Judge Tom Sport appointed Luverne attorney Mark Smyth as the attorney for brothers, Darren Hayes, 39, and Darryl Hayes, 29.
Each brother is charged with robbery first and each is being held on a $1 million bond in the Crenshaw County Jail after they allegedly robbed the bank on Dec. 23, around 11 a.m.
Brantley Police Assistant Chief Drew Morgan captured the pair at the Beeline on Hwy. 29.
Sport said that he would appoint a second attorney if necessary.
Assistant District Attorney Levi Nichols said he expects the pair to enter not guilty pleas soon.
Circuit Clerk Jeannie Gibson said that the Hayes would appear before Judge Sport for their preliminary hearing on Feb. 2.
Nichols said the case would to the grand jury in August.
