Bulldogs fall to Monroe County

The Andalusia Bulldogs faced a tough road test on Tuesday night as the fell to Monroe County 54-43 in Monroeville.

Monroe County opened up the game with a strong period and jumped out front 19-11.

Allan George knocked to a 3-pointer and hit a pair of free throws in the opening period to pace the Bulldogs.

B.J. Anderson chipped in 4 points for the Bulldogs in the second period.

Anderson picked up the pace in the second period 8 points to help trim the Monroe County lead down to 29-26 heading into halftime.

The Monroe County defense surged in the third period and limited the Bulldogs to just 6 points in the frame.

Jaden Brown, Alex Sheridan and George each had 2 points in the period as the Bulldogs trailed 43-32 entering the final period.

R.J. Drish led the Bulldogs with 6 points in the final period, but it wasn’t enough for Andalusia to overcome Monroe County.

Anderson led the Bulldogs with 14 points in the game.

George finished the night with 13 points.
