A woman was killed in a blaze Sunday morning, officials said.
Opp Fire Chief Cory Spurlin said that his department responded to a fire off of Potter Road around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
“That’s on the edge of our fire district,” he said. “When we arrived there was heavy fire showing in the trailer.”
Spurlin said the person who called 911 told the dispatcher there was possibly someone inside the residence.
“We did a fire search,” he said. “And we did find one person inside the home who succumbed to the fire.”
Spurlin said the fire investigation was turned over to the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s office.
Spurlin said that the Babbie Fire Department also assisted with the blaze.
Alabama fire marshal spokesperson Steve Holmes identified the woman as Linda K Harrison.

Holmes said the fire is still under investigation
