Andalusia pummels W.S. Neal

The Class 4A, No. 6-ranked Andalusia Bulldogs wrapped up area play on Monday night with a 79-35 victory over the W.S. Neal Eagles in East Brewton.

For the Bulldogs, the win places them in three-way tie with Escambia County and Monroe County for the top spot in Class 4A, Area 2 standings.

The tiebreaker will be a coin toss between the three schools’ head coaches to determine which of the teams will host and be the area tournament’s top seed.

Andalusia got things off to a strong start in the first period with 10 points from B.J. Anderson that gave the Bulldogs a 26-11 lead at the end of the first period.

Trey Wilkerson added 9 points including a 3-pointer to help give the Bulldogs a double-digit lead going into the second period.

The Bulldogs spread the ball around efficiently in the second period to extend their lead to 49-22 at halftime.

Anderson chipped in 5 points for the Bulldogs in the second period.

Roosevelt Weaver, Curtis Daniels and Wilkerson each had 4 points in the period for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs continued to spread the scoring around in the third period, with seven players pitching in to give the Bulldogs a 66-31 lead heading into the final frame.

Anderson was the top scorer in the third period with 4 points for the Bulldogs.

With a running clock the entire fourth period, the Bulldogs were able to cruise to a 79-35 victory.

Allan George and Derrick McQueen led the Bulldogs with 4 points each in the final frame.

Anderson was the top scorer for the Bulldogs as he finished the night with 21 points.

Wilkerson tacked on 17 points in the Bulldogs victory and George came in with 15 points.
