Hundreds of high school students will visit LBW Community College in February for College 101.

“We welcome these young men and women to our campuses as they begin to prepare for their college experience,” said LBWCC Heather Owen, director of recruitment.

College 101 is set for each Friday in February and students can choose to attend one or more campus locations. Feb. 3 and 24 brings seniors to the Andalusia campus, with Feb. 10 set for Opp and Feb. 17 in Greenville, she said.

“These are always exciting days for our College. We have the opportunity to introduce LBWCC to seniors as they plan their next educational step. While on our campuses, they learn how to apply for financial aid and scholarships and about the various academic and technical programs available. They also meet instructors, and tour the campus.”

Through the STARS articulation agreement, academic courses taken at LBWCC transfer to all Alabama public and private universities. LBWCC also offers 14 different career technical programs of study.

“Our instructors are excited about meeting students who may be in their classes this summer or fall,” said Owen. “This is a great opportunity for incoming college freshmen and we encourage all high school seniors to participate.”
