Troy University’s Small Business Development Center is joining forces with Southern Independent Bank to help small businesses find funding for their projects.

“Small Business Lenders Panel: Show Me the Money” takes place from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tues., Jan. 31, at the Covington County Economic Development Commission offices at the South Alabama Regional Airport.

“As we all know, access to capital is one of the most critical and sometimes challenging aspects of starting and growing a small business,” said Betsy Baker, a senior advisor in the center.

“This program is designed to promote awareness of traditional and non-traditional sources of financing available to small businesses in southeast Alabama,” she said.

Lender representatives will introduce their programs, and provide an interactive panel discussion.

Lenders participating include: Southern Independent Bank, Community Enterprise Investments, Inc. (CEII), OnDeck Capital, U.S. Small Business Administration, Southeast Area Regional Planning & Development Commission (SEARPDC), State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), and LiftFund.

Lunch is provided in the free seminar, but pre-registration is required. Visit http://bit.ly/capitalOPP to register, or contact Baker via email at bakerb@troy.edu or by phone at 334-674-2425.

The Covington County EDC is located at 21754 Bill Benton Lane in Andalusia.
