Police ID victims in Tuesday wreck

The Andalusia Police Department on Friday identified the victims in a Tuesday morning accident that drew local attention when a victim was airlifted from the West Bypass in front of Massey Automotive.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Jan. 24. The driver of one vehicle, Larry Cross of Andalusia, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, Calvin Saultz, also of Andalusia, was airlifted from the scene to Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola, Fla.

Saultz, who was believed to be seriously injured when airlifted, was not, and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, according to a press release issued by APD Friday.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.

The accident remains under investigation.
