Fourth grade students from W.S. Harlan Elementary and Straughn Elementary traveled to Montgomery for a busy day of Alabama history adventures on Thurs., Jan. 26.
They visited the Capitol, the Alabama Department of Archives and History, the First White House of the Confederacy, and the Governor’s Mansion.
Students enjoyed seeing the real places and artifacts they have been studying in class this year.
They also resumed the tradition started by WSH’s Mrs. Joann Geohagan of singing the state song, “Alabama,” on the Capitol steps.
