County residents will have an opportunity to sound off on a proposed statewide 3-cent-per-gallon fuel tax when the Covington County Commission holds a public hearing on the issue on Mon., Feb. 6.

If approved, proceeds of the tax would be used to repay a bond issue that would be used to fund highway and bridge projects.

The hearing is set for 6 p.m., at the County Administration Building.
