Time for the RED GARTER REVIEW

The members of the Andalusia Junior Woman’s Club are inviting area residents to a special episode of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” in this year’s Red Garter Review.
RGR chairwoman Ali Hobson said she likes the theme because Andalusia has a number of “hometown celebrities.”
One of those celebrities, Bill Alverson, also known across the country as “Coach Charming,” will host this year’s event. Alverson is the local attorney and pageant coach who became a household name as the star of his own TLC reality television show. Just this week, The CW announced it will pilot Insatiable, a drama that was inspired by Alverson’s story, and which he is helping produce.
“We were really glad that Bill agreed to host for us,” Hobson said. “He is a really fun guy, and we wanted this to be a fun show.”
Each year, the AJWC assembles a group of entertainers for their show, and peppers the performance with comedy acts.
This year, entertainers include Jeff Sellers, Scott Rogers, Phillip McClung and Jeff Moore; Aubrey McKee; Tambry Jewel; Katie King and Lynsey Williams; Addy Gantt; the Red Garter Dancers; and the Ritz Crackers.
Tara Dalton, Amy Dugger, Lynn Starnes and Hannah Merrell are teaming up for a comedy routine; Myra Maddox will add some laughter; and perennial RGR favorites Kim and Kyle Baumgartner also will entertain.
The show is set for 7 p.m. this Fri. and Sat., Feb. 10 and 11, in the Dixon Center for Performing Arts on the campus of LBW Community College.
Tickets are $15, and are available in advance from CCB Community Bank, Darby’s, Utopia Spa and Boutique, and the Andalusia Star-News.
