Andalusia area residents will have yet another downtown dining option when Casey Jones opens CJ’s Grille next week.

Jones said Tuesday he hopes to open for lunch on Tues., Feb. 14.

“The menus aren’t here yet, and they’re supposed to be here Friday,” he said. “If we have them, we’ll open Tuesday. If not, maybe Wednesday.”

The restaurant, located on East Three Notch Street in the same block as Advantage Realty, will be open for lunch only for the first two weeks, he said, then will add dinner service.

“We’ll have a lunch special every day of the week, and our specials will change each month,” he said. “The lunch special will basically be a meat, a starch, and a vegetable, will include bread and drink, and will be $7.”

Lunch hours will be 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sundays.

The lunch menu also features lunch plates of fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp or chicken, a ribeye, or chicken tenders. There are six appetizers, and six choices of salads, including a Caesar, plain or with chicken; a Black and Bleu, with a blackened ribeye; Grilled Shrimp and Spinach; fried, grilled or blackened chicken over mixed greens; and a classic wedge.

There are also two soups and nine sandwiches on the menu.

For dinner, he said, he will offer two sizes of filet mignon; two sizes of ribeye; and two sizes of New York Strip. He also will serve fresh salmon, tuna and mahi, as well as large shrimp. He also plans to offer a full bar.

He is working with local specialty shops and bakers for desserts, he said, and plans to have cake, cheesecake and pie. He has already partnered with Amazing Grace, and will serve their apple tarts, he said.

Dinner hours will be from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

He has hired 24 employees, and they begin training today, he said.
