Lady Bulldogs eliminate Escambia County

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs knocked off Escambia County on Thursday night to move into Class 4A, Area 2 championship game, but the varsity boys’ fell in double-overtime to end their season.

GIRLS

ANDALUSIA 45,

ESCAMBIA 40

The Lady Bulldogs had three players reach double-digit scoring totals on their way to eliminating Escambia County 45-40.

Alex Crittenden came away as the top-scorer with 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Aaliyah Lawrence finished the night with 13 points and Shalisa Thomas chipped in 12 points.

“I thought we played well except for a couple of stretches,” Andalusia head coach Brad Garner said. “We the handled the end of the game situation better.”

With the win the Lady Bulldogs will play Monroe County on Saturday 5 p.m., for the area championship.

In the final match of the evening, the Bulldogs saw their season end with a 75-71 double-overtime loss.
