Carolyn Mauldin Matthews

Mrs. Carolyn Mauldin Matthews, age 72, of Brantley, passed away Thurs., Feb. 02, 2017, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Fri., Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. from Judson Baptist Church, interment will follow in church cemetery. A visitation will be held Thurs., Feb. 10, at Foreman Funeral Home from 5:30-8 p.m. The body will also lie in state one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Jennifer Matthews of Brantley, Robert and Joanne Burton of Charlotte, N.C., Rodney and Betchi Burton of Tampa, Fla., and Richard and Cindy Burton of Clairmont, Fla.; grandchildren, Makayla Matthews, Ashley Burton, Rene Burton, Robby Burton, Ryan Powers, Leslie Burton, Mariah Burton, Richard Burton, and Autumn Stephens; great-grandchildren, Kai Burton and Dallas Burton; brothers, Monroe Mauldin of Goshen, Ala., George Mauldin of Tenn., and Max Mauldin of Orlando, Fla.; and sisters, Susie Mauldin and Debbie Mauldin both of Naples, Fla.

Mrs. Matthews is preceded in death by her parents, Talbert and Catherine Mauldin, and husband, Frazer Matthews.

John Richard “Rick” Thompson

Mr. John Richard “Rick” Thompson, 38, of Auburn, formerly of Andalusia passed away Thurs, Feb. 9, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sat., Feb. 11, 2017, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Bro. Barry Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 -8 p.m. Friday at Foreman Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

He is survived by his parents, Basil W., III “Tommy” and Dorothy Thompson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wes and Stacey Thompson and Russell and Erin Thompson; four nieces, Taylor, Madison, Camilla, and Avery Thompson; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Basil W. Thompson, Jr., all of Andalusia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fran Dickinson Thompson. Pallbearers will be Jackson Thompson, Grant Hudson, Hunter Hobson, Dan Crayton, Jason Castleberry, Jason Locklier, Jamey Reeves and Tommy Morgan.

Homer L. Billingsley

Mr. Homer L. Billingsley, 92, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Feb. 8, 2017, in Bay Minette.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Fri., Feb. 10, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by a step-daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Barry Clark of Andalusia; daughter Nancy Beasley of Smith Station, Ala.; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Amber Marie Clark and Brandy Granger; two sisters, and brother-in-law, Helen and Ira Blanchard of Childersburg, Ala., and Ruth Caudle of Lincoln, Ala.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Burgess Billingsley; a daughter, Peggy Hubbard; two sisters, Mildred Byrd and Katherine Billingsley; and a brother, Ray Billingsley.

Mollie Jo Martin Armstrong

Mollie Jo Martin Armstrong, 78, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., Feb. 7, 2017, in Opp Health and Rehab.

Visitation will be Thurs., Feb. 9, 2017, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel in Andalusia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Jeannie (Michael) Engberg of Andalusia; sons, Dean (Michelle) Armstrong and Jerome (Kelly) Armstrong, all of Andalusia; sisters, Mary Ann (Nathan) Tomlinson of Alabaster; Temple Powell of Huntsville; Edith (Harry) Stewart of Huntsville. Mrs. Armstrong was blessed with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew Armstrong, and a son, Edwin Armstrong.
