The Straughn Tigers put forth a strong effort, but fell 81-71 to Geneva on Thursday night in the Class 3A, Area 3 championship game in Geneva.

Straughn started the game strong and held a 32-23 lead at halftime, but a big second half from Geneva’s Kade Green lifted the Panthers to a double-overtime victory.

Justin Peeples led the way for the Tigers with 20 points in the defeat.

Hank Peeples added 17 points for the Tigers.

With the loss, the Tigers will now have to travel for next week’s sub-regional game.
