A Union Springs man was jailed on drug charges for ICE Tuesday.

Opp Police Chief Mike McDoanld said that Joseph C. Hicks was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (ICE) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McDonald said that around 1:11 a.m., an Opp Police Department C-Shift officer observed a white Toyota Camry in the vicinity of the Best Western on the Opp Bypass.

“The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the motel and the suspicious activity continued,” he said.

Opp’s K9 unit and K9 Bella made contact with the Camry, McDonald said.

McDonald said the investigation led to Hicks’ arrest.

The case was referred to the 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force.
