Andalusia’s newest Dollar General location is open for business.

It is located at 13953 Coots Crossing Lane on Hwy. 55 South just past the Gitty-Up-N-Go and Samurai.

The official grand opening will be held next Sat., March 4, at 8 a.m., with free prizes and special deals.

The first 50 adult shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a tote bag with complimentary product samples, among other giveaways.

“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “We hope our area customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”

The store is roughly 7,300 square feet.

Dan MacDonald, senior director of corporate communications for Dollar General, said that the store would have some 22 coolers, which means a broader selection of frozen and refrigerated food offerings.

It also features an expanded health and beauty section and more efficient check out.
