Mothers of small children who need some free time can take advantage of First Baptist Church of Andalusia’s Mother’s Day Out program.
The program, which enrolls students during the school year, also has rates available for those children who drop-in on occasion.
Coordinator Beverly Farrington said the church program accommodates children throughout the school year.
“We start at crawling and go through preschool,” she said, adding that sometimes babies need to “age in” to the program after the traditional school year begins.
Farrington said younger children learn to play together, and to trust other people to care for them.
“Our 2, 3 and 4-hyears olds, we teach, getting them ready for kindergarten,” she said. “They work on colors, letters, sounds, shapes and counting.”
Children also learn biblical principles.
The program is offered from 8 a.m. until noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
