The man whose body was found in a residence on River Falls Street last week has been identified as William Jason Chandler, 40, of Andalusia.

The Andalusia Police Department was called to the scene of an apartment early Friday afternoon, but did not immediately release any information, other than that they were investigating the man’s death.

“We are still waiting on the preliminary report from the Alabama Department of Forensic Science as to the cause of death,” a statement released late Monday said. “We will release more information once we receive that report.”
