Last week, Andalusia Junior High School teacher Tammy Pickard made good on a promise to dye her hair pink if her students raised $500 for childhood leukemia and lymphoma research. They exceeded the goal, and she went pink on Wednesday. But then, she went a step further and shaved her head, as she is personally undergoing treatment for cancer.
