The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and held off the Red Level Lady Tigers for an 11-0 victory in the opening round of the Bulldog Bash Softball Tournament on Friday night in Andalusia.

Haley Ballard got the Lady Bulldogs rolling in the bottom of the first inning when she blasted a two-run home run to put Andalusia on top 3-0.

With prom at Andalusia on Friday night, the Lady Bulldogs were without all but three starters and used junior varsity players to fill the voids.

“We had a lot of youth out there today,” Andalusia head coach Anthony Mikel said. “The oldest girl on the field was a tenth grader. I was very proud of the effort from these girls today. There is a lot to be excited about the future of the Andalusia High School softball program.”

The Lady Bulldogs will take on Opp today at 10:30 a.m., for the final round-robin game for both teams.
