Nora Chechova Compton
Mrs. Nora Chechova Compton, age 97, passed away early Friday morning, March 17, 2017.
Mrs. Compton was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1919 and grew up in San Francisco, Calif.. She lived most of her life in California until moving East with her son, Doug, grandson, David, and daughter-in-law, Sheila, whom she is survived by.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie B. Compton. She lived a long happy life and died peacefully in her sleep at home in her own bed, which was her wish.
A family only memorial service will be held at a later date.
William Cecil
Parrish
Mr. William Cecil Parrish, age 88, of Andalusia, passed away Wednesday evening, March 15, 2017, at Andalusia Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., March 18, at Adellum Baptist Church with Brother Billy Boles officiating the service. Interment will follow in Adellum Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Marzell Rabren Parrish of Andalusia; son and daughter-in-law, William Keith and Glenda Parrish of Mobile; son, Michael S. “Mike” Parrish of Red Level; daughter, Deborah G. Parrish of Shorter, Ala.; grandson, William Bryant Parrish of Mobile; and brother and sister-in-law, Reginald James and Mildred Parrish of Columbia, S.C.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Burie Gard Parrish and Aggie White Parrish; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Bass and Bill Portwood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Burie Parrish Jr.and Jane Parrish, and Donahue and Helen Parrish.
Mr. Parrish served in the United States Air Force with travels throughout the world, including tours of duty during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
From plowing fields around Andalusia to his travels abroad, he was a devoted Christian, an amazing father, husband, cowboy, soldier, and an Alabama fan that positively touched everyone’s life that he was a part of.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers , please make donations to Adellum Baptist Church, 12514 Brooklyn Road, Andalusia, AL 36421.
Pallbearers will include Ronnie Capps, Corey Smith, Bryant Parrish, Steve Rabren, Phillip Rabren, and Nathan Greathouse.

Miriam Burge Foshee
Mrs. Miriam Burge Foshee, age 72, of Red Level, passed away on Fri., March 17, 2017, at her residence.
Throughout her life Miriam was involved in many activities and hobbies and was very passionate about everything she did. She was very involved in her sons’ school activities and never missed any of their sporting events. She enjoyed bird hunting and raising bird dogs with her boys.
Miriam and Winston raised Red Angus cattle for many years and Miriam served as Vice-President of the National Red Angus Association and President of the South East Red Angus Association.
She also served as the president of Covington County Quilt Guild Association, president of Montgomery Booster Club Association (Hooper Academy) and Vvice president of Montgomery Board of Trustees (Hooper Academy). Miriam loved quilting and won many awards for her quilts. She raised daylilies and was very proud to have one named after her.
Miriam excelled in her career moving up from an administrative assistant to Human Resource Manager for American States Insurance and claims adjuster for several insurance companies in the Montgomery area, including American States Insurance and Cigna Insurance.
Miriam loved the Lord and was an active member of the Buck Creek Baptist Church serving as Chairman of the Vision Team. She dearly loved her Women’s Sunday School class and cherished every moment with them.
Even with all of these accomplishments, she was most proud of her family, especially her four grandchildren, Nathan, Haley, Morgan, and Kendall.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sun., March 19, at Buck Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tyler Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Buck Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., March 18, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
Mrs. Foshee is survived by her husband, Lewis Winston Foshee of Red Level; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Kelly Foshee of Huntsville, and Robin and Edna Foshee of Trussville; four grandchildren, Nathan (Katie) Foshee, Haley (Justin) Griggs, Morgan Foshee, and Kendall Foshee; one great-grandchild, Austin Griggs; and sister and brother-in-law, Norma and J.W. Williamson of Andalusia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Oglesby and Jewel Bodie Burge; and brother, Charles Oglesby Burge, III.
