Services set for former Sen. Crum Foshee

 Eugene Crum Foshee, Sr.

Eugene Crum Foshee, Sr., passed away at home on Sat., March 18, 2017. He was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Red Level, Ala., to Wheeler G. Foshee, Sr. and Ruby Faye Foshee. He is survived by his loving wife, Cherie Estes Foshee; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Foshee Wicks (Hugh); two sons, Eugene Crum Foshee, Jr. (Traci) and John Brannon Foshee; a step-daughter, Katie Colquett Henley (Larry); a brother, Wheeler G. Foshee, Jr.; two sisters, June Foshee Russell (Bobby) and Shirley Malone Foshee Pitts (Bill). He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren, Jo Elizabeth Wicks, Anna Victoria Wicks, Mary Catherine Foshee, Graci Morgan Foshee, Eugene Crum Foshee, III (Trey), Rylee Kate Henley, and Avery Anne Henley.

Crum served in the Alabama Legislature for 35 years. He was a dedicated senator who worked hard to represent his constituents. After retiring from the Senate, he worked as a consultant in government relations. In addition, Crum served two terms as a trustee on the Board of the University of South Alabama.

Crum never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face, and was polite, kind, and caring of everyone. He will be missed by his family and his many personal, business, and governmental friends.

The family wishes to thank all of the care providers for their dedicated service to Crum during his illness. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Michael Karst, to Dr. Harry Barnes, and to all of the staff at Montgomery Cancer Center; to caregivers Jennifer, Nicole, Brandy, Liz, and Melissa; and also a very special thanks to Pilots for Christ.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Coleman, Alva Lambert, Tony Moore, Frank Brown, Hugh Wicks, and Larry Henley. Honorary pallbearers will be John Teague, Joe Fine, John Smith, Mac Roberts, Jerry Spencer, Johnny Moore, Arch Lee, Milton McGregor, Tom Coker, Leah Taylor, Whit Armstrong, Jere Beasley, Jim Folsom, Fred Horn, Charles Price, Seth Hammett, U.W. Clemmons, Bill McClain, Hugh Barrow, and Paul Enzor.

A Celebration of Crum’s Life / Memorial Service will be held on Wed., March 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home in Montgomery. Visitation will be held at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home in Andalusia on Thurs., March 23, from 1-3 p.m. followed by graveside service at Long Branch Cemetery in Cohasset, AL.
