Parents can register 4-year-olds for Pre-K lottery through March 31

Parents interested in enrolling their children in Pre-K classes have until the end of next week to complete an application for the 2017-18 school year. Enrollment in First Class: Alabama’s Voluntary Pre-K is open to all children four years of age who are residents of the state of Alabama. Participants are randomly selected from applications.

Andalusia City Schools operate a Pre-K program on the campus of Andalusia Elementary School and on the Bright Beginnings campus. Parents may apply at the central office from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The system office will be closed next week for spring break.

The Covington County School system operates Pre-K programs at Straughn and Red Level. Opp City Schools also has a Pre-K program.

Online registration for all pre-schools is available at http://alpreK.education/A. A special code is required for each school. They are as follows:

Parents must complete registrations forms, and a current utility bill must be used as proof of Alabama residency.

Parents do not have to be present for the drawing for their child to be eligible for participation.
