Those who have ever considered membership in the Andalusia Country Club have a chance to try it out in April and see if they like it, board member Mitch Thorn said.

The club’s board of directors has set a one-month membership drive for the month of April, Thorn said.

“For the entire month of April, anybody interested in becoming a member, can come out one Saturday from 2 p.m. until closing,” Thorn said. “You can play golf at the member rate of $22 for 18 holes, or eat dinner in the dining room for only the cost of the meal.”

“Basically, we want to invite the public out there to see how nice the course is,” he said. “We have really good food and a great family atmosphere.”

In addition to the 18-hole golf course, the semi-public club has tennis courts, and a swimming pool that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day with fulltime lifeguards.

The club also hosts monthly socials, like a shrimp and crawfish boil set for April 9.

“Any potential members who want to come to that, are welcome to that as well,” Thorn said.

At present, the Andalusia Country Club has 260 members.
