Larry Hudson

Mr. Larry Hudson, age 59, of Opp, died Sat., April 1, 2017, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

A funeral service for Larry will be conducted 1 p.m. Thurs., April 6, 2017, at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Garry Winstead and Bro. Jerry Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Cemetery in the Basin Community. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of choice.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kim Melissa Hudson; son, Shawn Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Chasity Hudson (Jody) Cooper; sisters and brothers-in-law; Linda (Donald) Smith, Wanda (Randy) Buckelew, Gloria (Wayne) Nowling; grandchildren, Michaela Cooper, Ella Cooper, Hayden Thompson, Carson Thompson and Graham Thompson; step-son, Jimmy Thompson; step-daughter, Ashley Thompson; mother-in-law, Hilda Barrett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Larry Hudson and Alpha Omega Hudson.

Nannie Mae Mullen Lawson

Nannie Mae Mullen Lawson, age 80, of Iron City, Ga., passed away Sun. morning, April 2, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lawson will be held on Wed., April 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. EST at Unity Church of God in Iron City, Ga., with the Rev. Jimmy Walden, Terry Mullen, and Stacy Bundrick officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia, at 3 p.m. CST at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Lamar Temples, Eddie Mullen, Will Pritchard, Clay Smith, Bubba Bowsman, Mark Mullen and Morris Mullen serving as active pallbearers and Bubba Smith will serve as a honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, April 4, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. EST at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Andalusia, on May 7, 1936, to Eddie Mullen and Dovie Elizabeth Brooks Mullen. She worked as a health service technician at Bainbridge State Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Lawson loved spending time with her family and going to church at Unity Church of God, where she was a member.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Louie Scott Lawson and his wife Jennifer of Colquitt, Ga., and Luke Lawson and his wife Sandra of Iron City, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Laura Luckett, Frankie Dale Lawson, Jr., Jeffery Lawson, Nickey Richardson, Andy Richardson, Isabella Lawson, Louie Lawson, and Mikayla Lawson; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Mullen and Dovie Elizabeth Brooks Mullen; her husband, Louie Lawson; a son, Frankie Lawson; a daughter, Patricia Richardson; and 10 siblings.
