The Andalusia Bulldog soccer team remained undefeated in area play after knocking off Satsuma 7-0 Friday night in Andalusia on Senior Night.

Andalusia got on the board quickly in the opening half with a goal from Jaden Brown with 35 minutes left in the first.

The Bulldogs almost added another quick goal, but a header attempt from Adam Peek off a corner kick narrowly missed its mark.

The Bulldogs quickly got another corner kick, and this time Wain Yongkuma was able to kick it with the heel of his foot to put Andalusia on top 2-0 with a little more than 30 minutes left in the opening half.

Andalusia continued to apply tremendous pressure on the Satsuma defense and got an explosive goal from a charging Kiki Wain for a 3-0 Bulldog advantage.

The game then went scoreless for nearly 16 minutes before Reese Burkhardt sent a long-range missile off the hands of the Satsuma goal keeper and into the net for another Bulldog score.

Andalusia’s defense was their strong offense as they continued to push the ball to the Satsuma side of the pitch and kept pounding shots on the goal.

With about seven minutes left in the opening half, the Bulldogs got another big goal as Peek came charging in sent a shot into the top shelf where momma hides the cookies to put the Bulldogs up 5-0.

The Bulldogs got things started quickly in the second half when Wain sent a shot into the back of the net for a 6-0 Andalusia lead.

Andalusia continued their strong play on corner kicks as Brown jumped up and sent a header into the net for the Bulldogs’ final goal of the contest.

“That was probably the most complete game that we have played,” Andalusia head soccer coach Jarret Williamson said. “There are some spots that we still have to work on, but the kids are making a consciences effort to correct those things. When you have a team that is playing pretty well and they are still working on improving, that is a really good sign. I was very proud of our six seniors tonight and the contributions that them and their parents have made to this program. Some of these kids have been a part of this program for a long time, and we want to send them out the right way.”

In junior varsity action, the Bulldogs remained perfect on the season with a 4-1 victory over Satsuma.
