Friends and family will gather tonight in the Straughn High School student parking lot for intercessory prayer for SHS student Gordie Cartwright.

Cartwright’s parents, Rick and Christy, received word form doctors in Houston that they have done all they can do for Gordie.

Gordie has been fighting CML, a form of leukemia that starts inside the bone marrow and causes uncontrolled growth of immature cells that make a certain type of white blood cells called myeloid cells.

Gordie was diagnosed with CML in October 2014.

His sister, Ginnee, gave him bone marrow for a bone marrow transplant late last year.

In February 2016, the Make-A-Wish foundation granted Gordie his dream of making a video game he developed a reality.

Pilots for Christ was expected to bring Gordie home.

The prayer vigil is set for 6:30 p.m., everyone who is able is asked to come and stand in the gap for Gordie.
