COMING DOWN TO THE WIRE: Bulldogs top Bobcats in walk-off fashion

The Andalusia Bulldogs closed out the regular season with an 8-7 walk-off victory over the Opp Bobcats on Monday night in Andalusia.
“We did a lot of bad things, but we overcame them with a lot of good things,” Andalusia head baseball coach Tyler Dent said. “That’s a big win for us going into the playoffs. Things are going to be up and down in the playoffs, and this helps us prepare for that.”
Opp got a leadoff walk in the top of the first inning from Greg House who later scored on a double steal to give the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead.
Ethan Wilson started the bottom of the first inning with a double and then came aroudn to score on single from Riley Graham.
A few batters later, Will Clark launched a rocket deep over the fence in left field for a two-run home run.
Opp inched back in with an RBI single from Lane Worley in the top of the second inning that scored Orlando Lacey.
Andalusia added to its lead in the bottom of the second inning by taking advantage of timely hits and costly walks.
Wilson drove in J.W. Jones with a single through the infield.
A few batters later, and error following a single from Will Jones allowed two Bulldog runners to cross the plate.
Opp tied the contest in the top of the third when they also took advantage of costly errors by the Bulldogs.
Dylan Dee came arcoss to score after leading off the top of the fourth with a double and gave Opp a 7-6 lead.
The Bulldogs tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Riley Graham reached with a single to start the bottom of the seventh and then moved around to second on sacrifice bunt from Will Jones.
Hogan Nichols followed with a single up the middle of the diamond that allowed Graham to score the winning run.
