Covington County Sheriff Dennis Meeks confirmed Tuesday that his department investigated a suicide in the Conecuh National Forest Monday night.

The victim, who was an adult male, was transported from the scene by emergency personnel, but later died.

Forestry officials deferred comment to the sheriff’s department.
