Lady Bulldogs’ season comes to an end

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs saw their season come to an end on Tuesday afternoon in Ashford as they were swept in the Class 4A, Area 3 tournament.

DALE COUNTY 7, ANDALUSIA 1

In the first game of the day, the Lady Bulldogs found themselves unable to dig their way out of an early hole on the way to a 7-1 defeat.

Dale County went up 2-0 with a home run in the bottom of the second inning.

Andalusia finally managed to scratch out a run in the top of the seventh inning when Zaria Jones popped up a single to right field that allowed Haley Day to score.

ASHFORD 10,

ANDALUSIA 4

Facing elimination, the Lady Bulldogs were no match for Ashford as they fell 10-4 to the Lady Yellow Jackets.

A home run from Ashford in the top of the first inning quickly gave the Lady Yellow Jackets a 2-0 advantage.

The Lady Bulldogs battled back and tied the game 2-2 when Millie Manring ripped a double that allowed Oliva Amerson and Haley Harper to score.

Asford then rallied and shut the door on any Andalusia comeback attempt.
