The communities of Andalusia and Opp will observe the National Day of Prayer with prayer services today, Thurs., May 4.

Bob Madsen, pastor of Andalusia First Presbyterian Church and president of the Greater Andalusia Area Ministerial Association, said the association has planned a prayer service at noon today on the Court Square. In the event of rain, that service will be moved two blocks down on South Three Notch to the First Presbyterian Church.

Opp will hold its observance at city hall at noon, as well.

The event is held annually on the first Thursday of May and invites people of all faiths to pray for the nation.
