Fourth graders at Andalusia Elementary School are delighted to have fellow student Isyss Couch back among them, but they’re still busy raising money to help her family.

Isyss has been receiving treatment for a brain tumor at The Children’s Hospital in Birmingham after being diagnosed with the tumor in January.

In her absence, her teachers, Heather Bailey and Susan Chandler, and classmates formed Team Isyss. They have collected donations on her behalf, raising more than $4,000 in just five days.

Now, supporters are selling chances on a trailer.

“A brand new trailer was graciously donated in her honor by Clark Trailers,” Bailey said. “Her teachers, as well as several friends, are selling raffle tickets to win this new trailer.”

The drawing will be held at the closing of Three Notch Market this Sat., May 6.

“If you are planning to attend Three Notch Market, we would love to have your community support and offer you a chance to win,” Bailey said. “You can also buy your ticket for just at Dalton Tire and Automotive or Tangles Hair Salon.”

Supporters also can reach out on the Team Isyss Facebook page and someone will deliver tickets, which are $2 each.

Currently, Isyss is back at school but is attending only half days until her health and immune system are able to handle full days.

Bailey said her classmates and teachers look forward to seeing her every day and are humbled by the outpouring of support they have received on her behalf.
