OPD makes drug arrest

An Opp man who was wanted on multiple drug warrants found himself facing additional drug charges Wednesday afternoon.

On Wed., May 18, Opp PD Chief Mike McDonald said OPD received information that an individual with multiple arrest warrants, issued by multiple courts, was located in the Delta Plaza area of Opp.

OPD investigators and members of the B-Shift Unit arrived on scene and located 36-year-old Opp resident Stanley Colvin, and detained him based upon the warrants.

Further investigation by officers resulted in the arrest of Colvin for second-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force responded to the scene and assumed the drug cases.
