One person was airlifted from the scene of a four-vehicle accident at Malfunction Junction in Andalusia Sunday.

Andalusia Police officials said Monday in a press release that the incident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Reports show that one of the vehicles ran through the intersection and hit another vehicle, which was pushed into two other vehicles.

“One person’s injuries were severe enough to be airlifted from the scene,” spokesperson Allen Scofield said. “The other injuries were not life threatening and all were treated at Andalusia hospital.”

Scofield said all vehicles were towed from the scene – the intersection of U.S. 29 North, MLK Jr. Expressway and East Three Notch Street.

APD officers, Andalusia fire fighters and Advanced EMS responded.

The accident remains under investigation. No other information was available when the Star-News went to press.
