Interested in doing something creative? Enjoy baking?

LBW Community College in Andalusia is offering a cupcake-decorating course on two dates next month.

“Students can choose between the dates of July 18 and July 20,” said Jennifer Hall, adult education specialist/ continuing education coordinator.

Hall said in the past, they have had a great turnout.

“It is our most popular class and is in high demand,” she said. “All of our past course participants have really enjoyed the class. Tari McClung, our instructor, makes the class a lot of fun.”

Hall said the class will meet from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., each day in the culinary kitchen in the Jeff Bishop Student Center.

Students who attend the class will learn how to pipe cake borders and decorate cupcakes using multiple colors and adding fondant accents.

Participants will receive buttercream icing, tips and piping bags.

Each student will need to bring 12 baked, plain, and cooled cupcakes in a container.

Space for the class is limited, Hall said.

The course fee is $25, plus a $15 supply fee.

“A total of $40 is due by July 7,” she said.

Participants may register in person in the students services offices, also located in the student center, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., or Friday from 8 a.m. until noon.
