GIVING AN ALL OUT EFFORT: Andy 10U All-Stars fall late to Greenville in final

The Andalusia Bulldog 10U All-Stars put up a strong battle, but fell 10-5 to Greenville on Friday night in district championship in Greenville.

The game was supposed to be played on Tuesday night, but rain from Tropical Storm Cindy forced the game to be postponed for four days.

Greenville jumped out front after scoring off an error in the opening frame.

In the top of the second inning, Collin Wheeler walked to start the game and then moved to second on a single from Spencer Stroud.

Both runners advanced a base on sacrifice bunt from Neillex Ferrell.

The Bulldogs then tied the game when Keilan Davis dropped down a sacrifice bunt that scored Wheeler.

Cade Curry followed with a double to put the Bulldogs up 2-1.

Riley Cravey struck out two in the bottom of the second and kept Greenville off the board.

In the top of the third inning, Mason Meeks and Mason Sheridan started off the frame with back-to-back singles and the Bulldogs loaded the bases when Noah Curry reached off of an error.

Andalusia’s bats continued to get hot as Grayson Bush sent a scorching double back up the middle of the diamond.

The hit from Bush put the Bulldogs up 4-1 with one out in the inning.

After a strikeout to the next batter, Curry scored on a passed ball to give Andalusia a 5-1 lead heading in the bottom of the third inning.

Greenville cut into the Andalusia lead with a pair of singles that lead to a run in the bottom of the third inning.

The Bulldogs got a one-out walk from Davis, but were unable to push across a run.

Greenville continued to fight back into the game and took advantage of timely hits to tie the game 5-5 after four innings of play.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Greenville continued to hit the ball well and went on top 10-5.
