ASN names all-county softball team [with gallery]

There were many teams and players around the county who had a big year during softball season, among them these 14 players were selected for the 2017 Andalusia Star-News All-County softball team.
Everyone who made the team had big numbers, but Pleasant Home’s Amy Kate Bulger went above and beyond as she helped lead the Lady Eagles to a third place finish in the Class 1A state tournament. For her efforts, Bulger has been named the Star-News Player of the Year.
Bulger led the Lady Eagles with five home runs, 41 RBIs and a .433 batting average.
The eighth grade slugger also had 31 singles, eight doubles and one triple.
Bulger was a second-team ASWA All-State selection this season.
The Star-News Coach of the Year is Pleasant Home’s Jessica Gibson.
This is the second time Gibson has been named the newspaper’s Coach of the Year.
Gibson was named as the ASWA’s Class 1A Coach of the Year this past season after leading the Lady Eagles to brink of the state championship.
