Gourd painting and quilting classes are being offered at Andalusia’s Adult Activity Center beginning in July.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. in July 11-25. Deadline to register is July 5, and classes are $25.

Instructor Mickey Glisson (or staff) will demonstrate how to clean and prep a homegrown gourd for painting. Fees will include brushes (yours to keep), two gourds and paint. All gourds should be finished by the close of July 25th class.

A step-by-step beginner’s quilting class will begin Thurs., July 13, and participants will learn how to cut, piece and hand quilt. Classes will be held each Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. into August or until everyone has completed throw. Participants will need to furnish their own batting and backing.
