Those looking to run on the Fourth of July have an opportunity to participate in a virtual run.

Jennifer O’Neal said there are a few people who have signed up for a virtual run.

“It is where you go online and register for a race and you can run it anytime, anywhere,” she said. “We just thought it would be a great way to celebrate Independence Day with our running family.”

O’Neal said they are inviting all runners in the area to participate.

“Not sure what kind of response we will get,” she said. “There is nothing like running through the beautiful City of Andy with the flags flying high. Makes me proud to be an American and a resident of our city.”

O’Neal said there will be no official time keeping for the run.

“It is just for fun,” she said.

O’Neal said anyone who wishes to participate may show up at the Regions Bank parking lot across from Andalusia Health and Fitness at 5 a.m., Tuesday.

“We would love for everyone to wear something patriotic if they can,” she said.
