There’s a possibility that with the impending buyout of Pridemark EMS by Haynes Ambulance that Haynes may locate its new air ambulance to the South Alabama Regional Airport or somewhere locally.
Sheriff Dennis Meeks asked Haynes Chief Operations Officer Kirk Barrett if he would do that.
“I know there is a possibility,” Barrett said. “We have two helicopters in Wetumpka and one in Troy. We are discussing our options.”
Pridemark’s Glenn Jowers said currently the air ambulance coming from Troy only take 15 minutes to get to the area.
Meeks said it would be a great asset to the county to have an air ambulance.
