Letter: East Three Notch needs new stripes

To the editor:

In the past couple of months, we’ve had our share of rain and storms, haven’t we?

The reason I’m writing about this isn’t about the weather though. It’s how bad the traffic is on East Three Notch Street from the Square to the light down at the First Baptist Church.

You absolutely cannot see the lines in the street when it’s wet. I’ve seen at least a dozen different times, cars half way over in the other lane and other drivers can go by them, slamming an their brakes, blowing horns and I’m sure a lot of y’all have seen the same thing.

It doesn’t appear that East Three Notch needs resurfacing, but the lines sur need to be repainted. It’s bad enough when the street is dry! If y’all agree, give the mayor call or drop a line to the Star-News before someone is in a bad wreck there. Since the Post Office and other businesses are on that street that cause a lot of getting off and on this street, and if it rains hard, the street is covered in water (pooling)which compounds the problem.

Maybe the mayor will put this project ahead of what ever has planned next before someone gets hurt.
