ACS makes more hires for new school year

The Andalusia Board of Education only has a few more hires to make before school starts after Monday night’s meeting, when it hired six employees, but accepted the resignation of three more.

The board hired:

  • Matthew McQuay, sixth grade social studies teacher at AES.
  • Elisa Mount, school counselor at AES.
  • Tammy Stevens, special education teacher at AES.
  • Tom Locklier, route bus driver.
  • Bridget Caraway, route bus driver
  • Amy Norris, AES special ed paraprofessional.

The board also approved the assignments of four teachers it previously hired at AES, including:

  • Jessica Bedsole – kindergarten.
  • Lori Godwin – third grade
  • Greeley Foshee – fourth grade
  • Jennifer Majors- sixth grade.

The board also transferred Jessica Daniels from technology paraprofessional to AES fifth grade teacher.

The board accepted the resignations of:

  • Carrie Browning, fifth grade teacher at AES.
  • Trevor Driver, history teacher at AES.
  • Molly Bailey, English teacher at AHS.
