The Andalusia Bulldog 12U All-Stars battled to the end, but were eliminated from the state tournament after falling to Dothan American 7-1 Saturday in Andalusia.

In the top of the first inning, Trent Ziglar reached on one-out single and then quickly stole second base.

After the next batter struck out, Garrett Blackston ripped a pitch to shortstop, but the Dothan player snagged the ball and fired to first for the third out of the inning.

Dothan’s first batter of the game reached first when a infield pop was misplayed by the Bulldog defense.

With a runner on first, Bulldog starting pitcher, Ziglar, stuck out the next Dothan batter swinging.

The runner that reached then swiped second and third before scoring on a one-out single to put Dothan on top 1-0.

In the bottom of the second Ziglar retired Dothan in order with two strikeouts and a ground out.

Dothan broke through in the bottom of the third with four singles, two walks and hit batter that allowed them to take a 7-0 advantage over the Bulldogs.

Aksh Patel came into pitch for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fourth and struck out two batters in the inning.

The Bulldogs got a leadoff single from Dylan Jackson in the top of the sixth and then a single from Patel moved Jackson to second.

Aidan Vines was hit by a pitch to load the bases and the Bulldogs lone run came when Christian Walker grounded into a fielder’s choice to shortstop.
